Travelling along The Wild Atlantic Way, learn a little Gaeilge while you play. Conas atá tú? ( How are you?) This cache will hopefully get us all learning a few words in Gaeilge that we might not know.If you know a nice word or phrase in Gaeilge write it on a bit of paper with its (brí) meaning and leave it in the cache. If there's a word or phrase there that you like take it with you and tell the world about it. Slán go fóill (Bye for now)
Carna... the home of Sean-Nós singing is a beautiful area with wonderful sights and wonderful people. There are annual singing festivals worthy of mention in Carna. May Bank holiday weekend 'Joe Heaney Festival' and October Bank Holiday weekend 'Micheal Máire 'n Gabha Festival. Two brilliant festivals with Top class singers, musicians and workshops in Singing, Dancing and Ceol (music). On the first Friday of every month is the Ciorcal Amhránaíochta Charna (Carna singing circle) in Óstán Chuan Charna (Carna Bay Hotel) were everyone is invited and if you like you can sing a song or recite a poem in any language, you can play some music or tell a story. You can have someone play you a song while you show off your dance moves and most importantly you can learn or teach a bit of Gaeilge.
