This is one of De Pere's newest jewels, only recently made more beautiful by a native plant garden designed and installed by the NEW Master Gardeners. Cachers will have a nice stroll out to the wildlife viewing pier and hopefully see our beautiful white pelicans or witness the spring spawning runs. En route they will need to gather the clues that open the cache (all are located along the viewing pier).
As you stroll to the coordinates, keep your eyes open and bring a notepad since to get the find you'll need the code ABC. For the first number (A) you'll need to note how many wildlife identification signs are posted along the pier. B is for benches--how many were nearest the base of the pier plus the number at the viewing end? C is a guide to what you might see, but you'll need to subtract the number of fish species from the number of birds.
Once you have the code, stroll all the way to the end, pausing to revel in the moment and noticing as you reach the end that the viewing area has seven sides (with the first side on your left and proceeding clockwise). The locks hanging out here hold the numbers you need to find the final cache within the park. The code tells you which of the seven sides to search, then you'll use the clues to get the correct numbers to complete the coordinates: N 44 27. Code B R: "Olive me, olive you" What month is on this one? X: "Olive me, olive you" What was their special day? Code C Y: There's a big red lock with an engraved heart in white: subtract the top name from the bottom name Z: A tiny blue lock has a small ring attached. How many letters are in this person's name?
