This short series will take you around the lake and highlight some of the animal species you may see (or hear) as you go.
Animal Species - Pobblebonk Frog (Eastern Banjo Frog)
As you walk around the lake you may hear a very distinctive "bonk" coming from the reeds or near the edge of the lake. Thats the Pobblebonk Frog! This common and widespread burrowing frog may often be found in large numbers at night, particularly after rain.
Males usually call concealed in floating vegetation or less commonly from land at the water's edge. The call is a short musical, explosive note producing a resonant "bonk". The call is usually repeated every few seconds. Some individuals from eastern populations can produce a rapid series of "bonk bonk bonk bonk" lasting about one second.
Cache is minty and finding it will leave you very exposed, particularly if its busy! Please replace carefully to ensure it is well hidden and that it doesn't detach from its camo. BYO pen
