Geocache Description:

This traditional cache is situated in a spot that provides a really good view of the newly created Flat Hill Wind Farm, a power generation site owned and managed by Pioneer Generation.

The 8 turbine towers are 44 metres high with a blade diameter of 52 metres. Each turbine is capable of generating a maximum of 850 kilowatts - a combined generation of 6.8 megawatts of power, making the estimated annual generation from the 26 gigawat hours - enough to supply approximately 2600 homes.

On the day that we placed the cache, the wind was really whistling across the tops here and it was easy to see why the wind generators are placed here.

The cache is a 1 litre sistema container and shouldn't be visible from any distance. It contains a log book, a pen and some TB's and GC's that want to continue their journey.

Enjoy.
