The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.
Another example of a fast-disappearing Fine Pair with its original telephone box, which is still in use.
The cache is not at the given coordinates.
The given coordinates bring you to the post box very near a private house. Find the CP number on the phone box, this will be G.
STAGE 1: N50 39.911 W001 12.439 - Now cross the road (careful the traffic!) and go to the phone box, where you will find the information to calculate the coordinates for the cache.
Find the telephone number in the phone box:
There are 6 digits after the area code (01983), which will become ABCDEF.
A = 1st digit,
B = 2nd digit etc…
The cache can be found a little walk away at:
N50° 40.(F-D)B(A-G) W001° 12.(A/2)(B-C)E
There is free parking available along the High Street.
The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum.
If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do, I would just ask that you let mattd2k at geocachingafinepair@gmail.com know first so he can keep track of the numbers and locations to avoid duplication.
He also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series so once your cache is published please contact him via his profile page to have yours added.
Please be aware that at the request of BT, it is not permitted to place the cache inside or on the exterior of the telephone box.
