In reality, of course, the population is not evenly spread over the landscape. People are concentrated in the town and villages, leaving the countryside for wide open. From a visitor´s perspective, that is actually not a bad thing. It means 2,2 inhabitants/square kilometer in the Skellefteå countryside, which means plenty of space. Forests, lakes and streams, cliffs, marshes and open space combines to create a dynamic and unique arena for a wide variety of experiences. But it isn´t just about nature. There is also a city just around the corner. A modern city on an international scale.
