Two hundred years ago settlers began traveling the Penetanguishene Road. Now geocachers are invited to read the stories of these travels and settlements for themselves. From Kempenfelt Bay on the west edge of Barrie, up to Wyebridge, there is a series of signs that share some of the stories of people who forged the road to the naval establishments in Penetanguishene.
This cache brings you to the middle of the route at Craighurst. Craighurst, which featured a mill, was named after the Craig family, which included an early postmaster named John Craig.
