The cache can be reached via a small road, which has a little parking area. The memorial here is to five gentlemen from Miyako who spotted a passing enemy Russian fleet, then rowed for hours to the nearby island of Ishigaki, which had communications with mainland Japan. Their warning enabled the Japanese to be ready. The location is very scenic anc also very sacred, so please respect the surroundings. The cache is not in or on the memorial itself, instead, it is just around the periphery.
