Geocache Description:

The Centennial Trail marks the 100th anniversary of SD statehood. There are 16 trail heads, many near campgrounds and vault toilets, from Bear Butte to Wind Cave National Park.
You will see trail markers with the number 89 on them which is the year (1889) SD became a state.​


Get out and get on a trail !  This smiley awaits you just a  few steps  on the Centennial Trail.  Park at the Pilot Knob  trail head to begin your discovery of this section of the CT.  Follow the trail over the creek and into the woods.  Continue at will.  * BYOW (bring your own water)
Centennial Trail maps are available in a small wooden box on trail head sign.

You will find this TH on Merritt Estes road or just off Hwy 385 at Pilot Knob.
