Breaker Bay - Korora (Little Blue Penguins) come ashore at dusk around the Eastern Bays. Their biggest threats are cars, dogs, mustelids and rats. Providing nesting boxes and planting native habitat provides shelter away from roads and houses. Wellington Harbour is one of the few places in New Zealand where these small penguins still breed in reasonable numbers on the mainland.
