Have you ever wanted to get away from it all and get back to nature? Well here is your chance. You can meet everyone at this event and really see what the Delaware Bay looks like from the salt marshes. According to the tide charts, low tide is at 12:32 pm. It may take about 1/2 an hour to walk from the parking area to the event. Plan your time to come early enough to make the walk. This should give us enough time to explore the islands. I think 1 hour should be enough time to look around, but if you want to stay longer, feel free.
This is right in the middle of the bird migration season. We should be able to see a lot of them.
I am hoping that all the bug wildlife will be gone by this time, but be prepared. This can be a very wet trip, so bring waders and a change of clothes. Also bring something to eat and drink.
Looking online, there are rumors of a couple of cellar holes and a benchmark out there.
It is hunting season, so wear orange. If we get there and there are a lot of hunters parked there, we may have to wait until hunting season is over.
Here is the web address to an old forum that has infomation about Tindall Island. https://forums.njpinebarrens.com/threads/tyndall-island-hike-large-scat.6198/
After reviewing the PSE&G environmental site, I found the following:
“Parking is prohibited on all PSEG lands except in designated parking areas. Rules for PSEG lands, as posted in parking areas, will be enforced. Parking areas are considered closed to further public use/access when parking spaces are filled”
The Tindall Island parking site can only handle up to 10 vehicles. I do not want anybody to get parking tickets or get their vehicles hauled away. The road is on PSE&G land.
I have made arrangements for an offsite parking area where we can meet and car pool to the Tindall Island parking area. It is less than 10 minutes away. The lot will hold about 20 vehicles.

We will meet at the Morris Goodwin School at 10:30 am. We will figure out who will drive over, load up and leave for the Tindall Island parking site about 10:45 am. Once there, we will start our walk about 11:00 am.
