How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the top of the Niáng Mountain in Hengxian. You can reach Hengxian by bus from Nanning East Bus Station in 2 hours (38 Yuan).

From Hengxian Bus Station it is a 2 hours hike to the top of the small mountain.

If you want to see the real countryside of China (fields of rice and jasmine and lots of hills), I can only recommend you do this as a day-trip from Nanning.

To make your trip to Hengxian as convenient as possible, I'll give you a detailed description (including several Waypoints) of how to get to the cache.

How to get to the cache?

After leaving Hengxian bus station through the main entrance, turn left and go to Waypoint 1 (N 22° 42.006 E 109° 15.679). On your way you will see a big and golden hotel. If you plan to stay in Hengxian, this should be your choice.

At WP1, follow the street shown in the picture and pass by a Chinese primary school on your left side. After around 300m, you will reach Waypoint 2 (N 22° 42.161 E 109° 15.621).

Here you will find a basketball ground. Take the street on the left side.

During the next 2 kilometers you will walk between fields of rice and jasmine and also a few houses. Don't forget to enjoy the smell of the jasmine flower, which is special for Hengxian.

Waypoint 3 (N 22° 42.359 E 109° 14.774) is located at the white tower. Follow the red sign and turn right into a small path which leads us to Waypoint 4 (N 22° 42.458 E 109° 14.902) after 300m.

Here starts the tiring part of your hike, but I promise you it will be worth every minute. Follow the street up the hill for about 15 minutes to reach Waypoint 5 (N 22° 42.663 E 109° 14.651).

This is WP5 and your quite close, but still not at the cache. Climb up the steps to reach the top of the top of the small mountain.

While going up, don't forget to take a look back. All buildings that you can see belong to the city of Hengxian.

When you reach the temple, then you are finally at the cache. Just pass the temple on your left side and look for the object mentioned by the hint and shown in the spoiler picture. After finding the cache, take a look at the amazing scenery in front of you.
