This cache has been archived.

Auld Pharrrt: There's been a few "Didn't find" reports and when I checked the box is missing. It had a good run. Thank you to everyone who logged it.

Geocache Description:

Cache container is a 2.4L lock & lock box in a cammo bag.

There is parking very near the cache location.

Once off the road this cache is safe for children, though I would advise keeping dogs on a leash.

Sorry to say, this cache isn't suitable for buggies or wheelchairs, the terrain is rough inside the trees.

I hope you enjoy my 1st cache.

The container is big enough to take most trackables and may be used as a TB hotel.

Congratulations to LunnLooking for being FTF and I thank you for the nice comments.

I believe these woods were once called Garland Woods ... I came across some ancient maps online and Garland Woods seems to be in two different places, including this one, so, until I'm told otherwise I'll call them Garland Woods.

The bungalow which now stands upon the original site of the Episcopal Chapel apparently has some stonework in the garden which may, or may not, be connected to the original chapel site.

The Chapel of Lethendy was designed by Davis Steven and built in 1843-44. It was a rubble walled Gothic box with a Georgian survival birdcage bell-cote on the east gable. This gable contained the entrance under a circular window which was topped by a small quarter-foil light. There was another small quarter-foil light on the west gable. Immediately to the east of the chapel was the single-storey building with broad eaves which was the former Free Church School and to the east of the school stood the two-storey former FREE CHURCH MANSE of circa 1850-51. Apparently the manse had a meanly corniced door-piece.
