Geocache Description:

Overheard in 1994:

"What is Alternative Music?"

"It's the stuff that's popular."

North:

"Found Out About You": Reached #51 on the Hot 100, which is not the information you need for this cache.

"The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get": I didn't ignore him, but this was the closest he ever got to a US Top 40 hit.

"Loser": This guy still has occasional hits today.

"Longview": I had a chance to see this band on my college campus that spring. Of course I had never heard of them so I didn't bother. D'oh!

"Into Your Arms": This band seemed like the next big thing in 1994...didn't happen.

"What's The Frequency, Kenneth?": Supposedly what Dan Rather's muggers said as they were mugging him. I don't get it either.

"All Apologies": First recorded in 1991, re-recorded in 1993.

West:

"God": Surprisingly this performer has never had a US Top 40 hit.

"About A Girl": A posthumous hit for this band's lead singer.

"Daughter": No music video for this song, as was common for this band at the time.

"Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm": There aren't many songs with four word titles without any vowels, are there?

"Fall Down": This group had a very strange name.

"Bang And Blame": Followup to "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?".

"Zombie": A song by an Irish band about the Irish Troubles. (No, not THAT Irish band)
