Vu qu'il n'y a pas de cours d'eau sur la presqu'île du Cap Ferret, il était difficile d'y installer des lavoirs. Celui-ci était alimenté par une source.

This is the only public washing place on the Cap Ferret peninsula, due to the lack of streams. The water used to come from a spring.
