Ode to Lucy Wortham James Part #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

WarriorFlamingo: I've decided to archive this since it went missing. I have replaced it with another cache in a little different area but too far away from original. It will be called Ode to Lucy Wortham James Part 1 Revisited.

Geocache Description:

This cache will take you through a park that is Lucy's legacy.  Our little town was founded in 1859, though it was first known as Big Prairie, then Scioto before it was named St. James in 1860 in honor of Thomas James.  Lucy Wortham James was a wealthy descendant of Thomas.  She is who we have to thank for the James Foundation that originally took care of our city park and library.

I have place three caches in the park, this is the first.  Please park in one of the many parking areas supplied by the park.  Please observe park hours, Dusk to 6 AM.  Be ever careful of muggles, after all it's a park and they're everywhere.  This cache is a little harder to get to than the others.  Find the hiking trail on the backside of the park.  This is where the journey begins.  The cache is off the trail a bit and slight bushwacking may be needed.  Cache is big enough to leave and trade items.  I have started you off with a Travel Bug that wants to see the world.

Permission was granted by City of St James, City Administrator
