To be frank we have to say it was not our original plan to place this cache here. Our idea was to go together with olfplatsch for the cache „GC5D7R5 - Agios Sozon“. First we tried to drive with two cars near to the cache from the east side, but one of our cars did't like Cretan very dirt roads. So we tried the west side. But we didn't find a proper way for all of us from Fodele beach to GC5D7R5. Thats why we decided to take a boat. At the beach in Fodele we rented the boat for one hour and had a very nice boat trip to the little church near GC5D7R5. We climbed up and our Garmin told us, we had to walk about 500m further up. In our time frame this was impossible to walk with swimming shoes to the cache and then back. So we enjoyed the area around the nice little Agios Sozon church and took some pictures here before going back down to our boat.
How to find the cache area:
We are recommending to follow the instructions in the cache „GC5D7R5 - Agios Sozon“. From there it is not too far to go down to Agios Sozon.
Of course if you have a boat or you like to rent a boat you can have it a little easier. But you need a calm sea and additional the boat cannot stop directly down the church. The last 5 - 10 meters you have to swim and then to climb up the rocks to the church.
The container:
The cache is a „Small“ one with a log stripe but without a pen. So take care to have a pen with you.
