The coordinates listed above are for the most logical parking site.
There are six small (sandwich container size) individual caches
each with a puzzle piece. The first container has pieces in
individual ziploc bags, so please take one bag that you can use to
store all the pieces as you collect them. Once you have collected
all six pieces, assemble the puzzle and you will see the
coordinates of the final cache location. The final cache contains
items for all ages along a puzzle theme, including:
- Dinosaur puzzle cube
- QuickBooks puzzle cube
- Snowman wooden puzzle
- Shark kid's puzzle
- Rubik's cube
- HotWheels jigsaw puzzle
- 3-D Animal puzzles
- Blockhead puzzle CD
- Notebook, geocaching letter, pencil and sharpener
Once you get to the final cache, please leave the puzzle pieces in
the ziploc bag in the final cache so we can redistribute them for
future cachers. We have placed 11 puzzles out there, so there
should be enough for a little while.
Since our Keychain cache went missing, we tried to make sure the
caches can't be found accidentally so we took extra care in hiding
each one. Hopefully they are not too difficult. Please take equal
care to re-hide each one once you have found it.
The coordinates for the six puzzle container caches are:
#1 - N53º 30.322 W113º 33.777
#2 - N53º 30.481 W113º 33.579
#3 - N53º 30.779 W113º 32.714
#4 - N53º 31.327 W113º 32.893
#5 - N53º 31.217 W113º 32.439
#6 - N53º 30.609 W113º 32.557
If they are done in order, they will take you in a loop through
the river valley that brings you back toward the parking site. All
caches are hidden near a main trail (although not visible from the
trail) and no bushwacking is required.
Enjoy!
UPDATE
The trail has washed out between waypoints #5
and #6. There is a detour, but it is a bit more strenous than the
regular trail requiring some climbing. The final location is still
accessible, although not directly from the trail along the river
(you will understand what this means once you decipher the final
location). I have adjusted the terrain rating to reflect the
increased difficulty.
