This is at the entrance to Burnt Mill Canyon Road. You can park near the gate and walk in to find this cache. What’s interesting about this road is that during winter months Bald Eagles nest here; as a result, from 12/1-4/1 the road is closed to all vehicles. You won’t need to drive in to find this cache though; you can park a few short feet from it.
You’re looking for a small can with black camo tape covering it. Please bring something to write with (if you can’t sign the log for any reason, take a picture of the paper log and post the photo in your Found It log) and we’ll give you credit for the find.
If you should drop a travel bug in this cache, or pick one up, please, please, remember to go to the travel bug’s page and log it (so many TB’s seem to get lost because people forget to log them) http://www.geocaching.com/track/travelbug.aspx
If you decide to look for the other caches along this road, don’t attempt to drive this section on the road, unless you have a high clearance vehicle or 4WD. The easiest route to take for the other caches is to continue further down the road towards Lake Silverwood (N 34° 16.374 W 117° 18.904). See the descriptions in the other caches for the cautions about the road.
This should be an easy find. If you are unable to find this cache, and are positive that it's gone, feel free to replace it with a temporary and claim the find; just let us know so that we can replace it next time we're out here.
