Geocache Description:

A small cache above Hebden Water

A series of caches around Hardcastle Crags and Crimsworth Dean placed with kind permission of the National Trust. Parking is plentiful at the end of the road past Midgehole (N53 45.520, W002 01.100) and is free for NT members but costs non members.

You may wish to visit just a few of the caches or complete the series in one go. It is approximately a 5 mile walk if you complete the whole series plus another short walk for the bonus which will take the best part of half a day. The terrain and hides are designed to give most cachers a bit of a challenge and there is a slight sting in the tail. It is not suitable for small children or buggies but is dog friendly.

The route can be muddy in places and there is a bog to be negotiated at one point, some please come prepared for wet conditions underfoot and the elements over the moor.

You will need to collect the codes in each of the caches to obtain the co-ordinates for the bonus cache.

It avoids most of the busy areas except around Gibson Mill, where there are facilities including a café, toilets & information centre. For details see (visit link)

This cache is placed near Black Scout with a steep drop to the left of the path so take care.
