Geocache Description:

A long walk down the utility road ending at an open field reminded me of Crater Lake.

Do not attempt to reach the general area from the east (I-95)  or the south (Micco Road). Both are blocked off preventing further progress.

Inspired by the Get In Touch With Nature series by Explorer290 (GC2AKT8, GC2AKTQ) and Sit Down and Have A Cache by tdjvolks (GC2AHKH) I decided to try and head south of Micco Road on the utility road /path that parallels I-95. The trip does not disappoint! Although not immediately beset by the same water hazards as the previous mentioned caches they are definitely there! In the 3 1/2 mile round trip journey you will encounter knee deep water for about 100 feet and, snakes (I saw two).

About the cache: An ammo can in a completely open circular field devoid of any trees and as of the journey in November, devoid of any water. I believe the area is a hollow similar to the Earthcache in Wickham Park (Wickham Hollow, GC5366M). The natural grass in the area provided enough camouflage so you should not have to move anything.

Enjoy the area and the walk along the way.

Some times the best thing about geocaching is not found in a box.
