A creepy night venture into Boulders Wildlife Conservation Easement, off of Gulf Road in Dalton. You never know what you're going to find when you go into the woods at night!!!
Listen carefully to the night sounds! Be careful where you step! Be prepared for anything, so bring a good flashlight, wear good running shoes, and bring a lot of courage!!!
PS - Have a great time!!!
Gulf Road is closed to thru traffic during the winter months. Parking at N 42° 28.892 W 073° 10.705 and a short walk (.4 mi.) to the trailhead to begin your adventure!
Follow the double white reflective hunters tacks along the dirt road and a pleasant trail into the woods until you end at the cache. You will see 3 sets of 3 white tacks - at the first one you'll take a left onto the trail from the road, the next one you'll stay to the trail on the left, and the third one indicates that you'll be taking a left off the trail to bushwhack the last 70 feet - the tacks will lead you to the treasure!
Getting out may be a different story!!!
Follow the orange reflective tacks (one or 2 on the trees along the trail), and hope it brings you out safely, just sayin'! There are 3 sets of triple orange tacks to help you stay on the trail. The first set near the treasure means to take a right onto the well maintained trail, the next one is to remind you to turn right at the intersection of trails, and the third one to turn right onto the dirt road leading back to the parking area.
The total hike is approximately 2.75 miles.
Congratulations to Capt. Bob for his courage and the FTF!!!
