About the Pond
Originally part of a large area of grazing land, this small nature reserve, on the edge of Willow Tree open space, covers just over a hectare and consists of a large pond, a small area of grassland and young woodland.
The nature reserve is home to many different plant and animal species. Watch out for birds such as Reed Buntingd, Herons, Kingfishers and Coots. Butterflies such as Speckled Wood and Peacock will often be fluttering by and dragonflies can be found darting around the waters edge.
The site is adjacent to the Grand Union canal (Paddington Branch) at the Willow Tree Marina. Note that the Marina entrance to the park is closed from 17:00 to 9:00am every day. Normal entry to the park outside of these hours can be gained via Glencoe Road.
The cache is located within the reserve along one of the paths.
