As a recent convert to geocaching, I have often pondered my first posted cache. Being someone who enjoys a challenge, I have always found that the journey is ultimately the reward. In my first hide, I spared all the evil ways I could create a cache that would be the subject of nightmares and kept things relatively light-hearted and fun. I dedicate this to the couple who sent me on my geocaching journey; Geaux Team!

This cache is not your common find. The first phase involves a simple decimal conversion. Identify the numerical type and you're well on your way. The final answer totals 'four digits'.

Phase two involves a little cunning and know how. Stay with it and you'll certainly find the log in which you seek.
