Geocache Description:

A little cache in a terrific location, a jumping off place for many caching opportunities, and a beautiful view to boot!

One of the first caches I found was at this location!  I hope this little cache brings as much joy to future seekers! bring a pencil!

At one time you might have taken a train all the way to New Mexico from this station! The Burlington Northern Sante Fe Rail Line between Salmo and Troup Junction was built as the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway by the American railway developer, Daniel Corbin in 1893. Apart from providing access to the mining towns of the Kootenays, this rail line ferried passengers between Spokane and Nelson.
