Geocache Description:

The little village of Somerton used to be on the main Oxley Highway but it was bypassed in the early '70s. The locals would not live anywhere else, even though their pub was burned down and their church has gone into disrepair. They have a new pub, Cathys Tavern and the local garage at the top of the hill has reopened, so everything looks rosy.

The aboriginal name for this area is Goora which means "Wind from the South West". A small black box with a log roll and pencil
