Oak Leaf Trail 14 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Blue Crow Expedition: I went to check on this geocache today. The whole area on the west side of the trail has been clear cut. The area on the east side of the trail is a mess of dense brush. I don't see a good way to hide anything here, so I am archiving this cache. The area will probably change again in a few years and then I can place a new one.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series on the Oak Leaf Trail.

About the Container

You are looking for a small black container on a hanger. Some of the containers in the series have white numbers but this one doesn't because it would make the container too obvious to passersby. The container is too small to hold most travel bugs or trade items. Please bring your own pen.

About the Location

The container should be visible from the path. You'll have to go down the slope a short way but not into the tree line. Be very careful of your footing, especially if there is ice or mud.

There is nothing too remarkable about this spot. In case you're curious, that is a Chevrolet dealership just below you on the east side of the path and a Lexus dealership a little past that. Directly west of this spot there is a Pick'n'Save. The larger facility to the south-west is something to do with We Energies. It has huge spools of cable and stacks of wooden telephone poles in the yard.

About the Series

The cache is part of the Oak Leaf Trail series. For information about the whole series, including tips about how to plan your approach, please see the listing for Oak Leaf Trail 01.
