I've always loved this location . . . which is why I had one of my stages to a multi cache here and then when I archived that cache I put out a new cache entitled Horsepower -- due to the proximity of the race track which originally was run by horses in the olden days. In any case, I recently archived Horsepower as the cache container was MIA and the hiding spot was in a rough shape . . . but I could not resist keeping a cache here . . . since this one is in a different spot and a different sort of hide, but close to the other cache . . . More Horsepower seemed a fitting name.
A little bit of historical context . . . the nearby auto racing track originally had its start as the site of the Unity Fairgrounds where horse racing took place. In 1948 folks began racing cars around the 1/4 mile dirt track. Today, the oval track is both shorter and paved. The covered grandstand remains a point of pride for the racetrack as it is a reminder of its distant past as a horse racing track.
I should point out that it is possible to access this cache from a few different areas . . . I might suggest parking on Main Street at the trailhead . . . but again there are other places that will get you even closer to the cache.
FYI . . . you do not need to go over the embankment to find this cache.
