It is truly astounding the number of chemical compounds we ingest on a daily basis. Beyond just our food, there are countless medications that dramatically improve our lives. Right now the acetaminophen I took this morning is reducing my headache. The Warfarin I take every day thins my blood to prevent blood clots. There are also countless drugs, poisons, and explosives that threaten our lives too. It’s a chemical world and understanding it can change the course of human history.
