Whilst East Cape in North Island in New Zealand is the Easter most place which take the first sunrise. I think down here we have the more dramatic backdrop for Sunrises.

Couple of Key House keeping notes:
1. As this is the day after new years eve, please all make sure you are safe to drive or have organised to grab lift from a firend. Alternative post on here that you would like a lift - I can pick up 3 people in my car.
2. To arrive for the sunrise you will need to walk the paths in low/no light. So bring tourch and even though it is a well worn path, wear sensible and sturdy shoes.
3. In the event of there being terrible weather I will move the event to the car park because the location above is not a place to get caught out.
4. Bring a camera!
