Chance's Story.
Chance was found wandering the streets with a badly broken hind leg. A kind lady brought him to the animal hospital where Buster's Mama works. The prognosis for healing was poor and the recommended treatment was amputation of the leg. Since he had no tags or microchip, there was no way to identify his owner. The vets agreed to hold him overnight, but if no one came to claim him the next day, he would be euthanized since he was requiring medical treatment (expensive) and no shelter would accept him in that condition.
Buster's Mama felt a bond with Chance and decided to try to save him. She worked out a payment agreement with the hospital and agreed to foster him while recovering from the surgery. Chance came to our house to recuperate and his sweet and affectionate nature and playfulness won our hearts. He was a good fit with our family, so instead of fostering him, we ended up adopting him ourselves. We named him Chance because he got a second chance at life and a forever home.
Chance loves bye-bye rides in the car and going on walks in the park. He joined us on the trail today and together we placed a cache in his honor. We hope you have fun finding it.
