Geocache Description:

You're looking for a small cylindar-shaped container.  Please respect this great park.  It is the home of many types of birds, including a large bluebird population.  It also has several great gardens with a large variety of flowers and herbs.  The butterfly garden is shaped like a giant butterfly--as can be seen from the areial view.  The garden where this cache is located provides an opportunity for kids to learn about self-sustainance.

Welcome to our great city.  Georgetown was founded in 1807.  The first residents were the Shields family, who arrived from Virginia in 1805.  Mr. Patrick Shields had been a neighbor of Patrick Henrey, for whom he had been named.  Two years later, the George Waltz family arrived from Pennsylvania.  Mr. Waltz named the city.  Groups of people arrived around 1820.  George Waltz eventually platted it the city around 1833.  Georgetown's post office was established in 1837.  Many homes built before 1850 remain standing today.  US Supreme Court Justice Sherman Minton was born in Georgetown.
