Mirvish Village (ON) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

dolemite9: Tis a sad day. Not only is Honest Ed's already becoming just a memory, but the entire block(s!) surrounding are now condemned. All those stores/restaurants/homes/studios/etc, gone (or at least relocated). Just so the area can be torn down and new highrises put up. F*ck... Doesn't Toronto have enough already? This city is like a clown car of construction/condos.... As such, this location will become a construction wasteland soon. Time to archive. Hopefully in 5+ years, once construction is done, we can place a new cache to commemorate this locale...

Geocache Description:

Lots of places a (magnetic-based, but not nano) cache could be placed, But we chose an obvious one. Please be discrete when grabbing/re-hiding so to minimize the chance that the container flies the coop.

There is a lot of Toronto history packed into this area. The broader neighborhood is known as Palmerston–Little Italy. But this block (and the nearby alley) bears the name of good ole Ed Mirvish, a Toronto staple (love him or hate him). His stamp is all over the area, including many art galleries. Oh, and a bonus if you come at night (nearby “Eds” provided a visual treat).
