Biblioteca civica di Colico
La nuova biblioteca di Colico, inaugurata il 15 gennaio 2011, è dedicata a Martino Fattarelli.
Così riporta la targa a ricordo posizionata all'interno della struttura:
Martino Fattarelli (Colico 1902 – Colico 1991). Storico, primo sindaco di Colico del dopoguerra.
Ottenne due Lauree, una in Scienze Sociali (a Bergamo) e una in Filosofia (a Friburgo). Fin da giovane aderì all'Azione Cattolica e si prodigò nel sociale. Insegnò Storia e filosofia al Collegio Gallio di Como e all'istituto della Presentazione di Como. Non aderì mai al fascismo e dopo l'8 settembre del '43, ricercato, riparò in Svizzera ove si prodigò per aiutare i compaesani e i compatrioti rifugiati. Dopo il 25 aprile del '45 fu scelto dal C.L.N. come rappresentante del Comune di Colico e nominato sindaco. Si spese per pacificare gli animi del paese, devastato dalla guerra e dalle rivalità. Alle elezioni del '46 fu confermato nell'incarico di sindaco del Comune di Colico e così negli anni successivi per un totale di 16 anni. Per un lungo periodo fu presidente della mutua dei coltivatori diretti della Provincia di Como. Dopo il pensionamento si dedicò agli studi storici e alla ricerca archivistica. Pubblicò diverse opere di carattere storico, con riferimento soprattutto locale, riguardanti l'Abbazia di Piona, il Forte di Fuentes, i Conti Alberti di Bormio. Nel 1986 pubblicò la sua opera più importante “La sepolta Olonio e la sua Pieve”. Dedicò le sue ultime forze alla stesura della “Storia di Colico” che lasciò sotto forma di appunti, poi raccolti e pubblicati postumi dalla figlia Elena.

The new library of Colico, opened on January 15, 2011, is dedicated to Martino Fattarelli.
The following words are stated on the memory plaque inside the library:
Martino Fattarelli (Colico 1902 - Colico 1991). First mayor of Colico after WWII.
He had two degrees, one in Social Sciences (Bergamo) and one in Philosophy (Freiburg). Since from his youth he joined the Catholic Action and he spent himself in social activities. He taught History and Philosophy at the Gallio College and at the Presentazione Institute in Como. He never adhered to fascism and after the 8th of September '43, being on the wanted lists, took refuge in Switzerland where he did his utmost to help the villagers and refugees compatriots. After April 25th of '45 he was chosen by C.L.N. as a representative of the City of Colico and assigned as the mayor. He worked to pacify the local community, devastated by war and rivalry. In the elections of '46 it was confirmed as mayor of Colico and so in the following years for a total of 16 years. For a long period he was president of the Mutual of farmers in the Province of Como. After retirement he devoted himself to historical studies and archival research. He published several works of historical character, referring mainly local, regarding the Abbey of Piona, Forte Fuentes, the Counts Alberti in Bormio. In 1986 he published his most important work "The buried Olonio and its Church". He devoted his last forces in the drafting of the "History of Colico" which he left in the form of notes, then collected and published posthumously by his daughter Elena.
