Years ago commerce used to be facilitated by use of canals in internal lands to lakes and oceans. The canal system is now maintained by NY state for recreational users. It is something real neat to see.
You can view this cache by water or you can drive / walk up to it. Either way it is a good experience to see the boats lifted and dropped in the canal locks. You can talk to the canal workers, they are very helpful and accommodating. Ask them any questions you wish.
IN ORDER TO VERIFY YOUR VISIT, PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH THE AMOUNT OF LIFT AND THE LOCK NUMBER, THEY ARE BOTH LISTED ON A METAL SIGN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CANAL LOCK. If not visible, than post a picture of yourself at the designated coords. Don't post answers here, even if encrypted.
