This adventure at Pine Mountain State Park winds past towering hemlocks, cascading waterfalls and rhododendron thickets. This multi-cache (a first for the Cadron Kids) lies near a well-defined, hard-packed trail (another first for the Cadron Kids). Descending--and ascending--a moderately steep grade (300+ feet), the real adventurer will cover 1-2 miles; although, the trip can be shortened for those who do not wish to hike through this beautiful forest.
We hiked every foot of trail at Pine Mountain State Park looking for just the perfect site. We wanted a site of exemplary beauty, a site that could be approached without harming the environment and a site that would prove enjoyable to all--both young and old. With so many wonderful sites to choose from we decided to make our first multi-cache:
Cache #1: Mama says "Don't Play With Fire". Yet this is the perfect place for a ghostly campfire!
Cache #2: Mama says "Stay Away From Electricity". However to "Keep Right" you have to power up!
Cache #3: Mama says "Take Your Umbrella If It Looks Like Rain". But the adventurous uphill scrambler knows to stay in the shadow of the bluffs.
