そのため、ここには平和の象徴として様々なスポーツ施設が建設されました。
その中でも特筆すべきはここに「平和台球場」があった事でしょう。
そして、平和台球場を本拠地とするプロ野球球団があった事です。
そのプロ野球団こそ「西鉄ライオンズ」です。
現在では福岡のプロ野球と言えば、「福岡ソフトバンクホークス」ですが、かつては「西鉄ライオンズ」が地元球団でした。
その後、様々な経緯から埼玉県に移転してしまいましたが、多くの人たちがここで野球を応援して平和な時代を喜び楽しみました。

There were facilities of the Japanese army in this place before the wolrd war Ⅱ.
After the wolrd war Ⅱ, this place was named "Heiwadai=Peace Place" by our thought, "We built the healthy peace society brightly".
Therefore, various sport houses were built as a symbol of peace.
In a sport houses, the biggest facilities were "Heiwadai Baseball Stadium".
And, there was a professional baseball baseball team basing on Heiwadai Stadium.
A professional baseball team is "Nishitetsu Lions".
Now, professional baseball team of Fukuoka City is "Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks ", but "Nishitetsu Lions" was my hometown prifessional baseball team 40 years ago.
From various reasons, "Nishitetsu Lions" has moved to Saitama prefacture. However, very many peoples supported baseball and they was pleased and enjoyed the peaceful times in "Heiwadai Baseball Stadium.
Please listen carefully while looking at a monument and the ruins, surely you should hear the shout of joy of the times of the peace.
