Geocache Description:

Happy New Year 2016!

We are excited to camp at George L. Smith for our first time camping at this beautiful park. It is best known for the refurbished Parrish Mill and Pond, a combination gristmill, saw mill, covered bridge and dam built in 1880. The park is also hosting an added treat while we are there called "Kiss My Grits" at the gristmill, see website for details. Some camping geocachers will be arriving on the 15th to take full advantage of all the *activities being planned for this weekend and to discover this unique state park.

Schedule of Activities:
6:00pm - Stone Soup (bring a can or other item to add to the pot & share dinner with us)
6:30pm - Bonfire (we supply the s'mores)
7:30pm - Prizes/activities - including the Jackpot Camper Drawing (bring un activated trackables to participate)
8:00 - Ring Around the Campfire

--->You're not obligated to camp out to attend this event. Just show up!<---

COST:
$25 per tent for two days camping (Friday and Saturday). Parking is available nearby. This is primitive style camping with no electricity or water at the tent sites. Please pack accordingly. There is running water and a pit privy at the site. Hammock campers: Plenty of trees for hanging but feel free to bring your stands/tripods if you prefer. There is a covered shelter with picnic tables for our use as well as two Adirondack shelters on site.
