Geocache Description:

Welcome to Celtic Shores Coastal Trail! We have been waiting for you! The 92-km Celtic Shores Coastal Trail stretches from Port Hastings to Inverness on the west coast of beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Explore the best of Canada’s seacoast as you journey along the trail where awe-inspiring natural beauty is matched by the vibrant celtic culture of our region. This exceptional trail system meanders along the coast providing first-class trail experiences for bikers, hikers, runners, quadders, skiers, snowmobilers and horse-back riders.

This was Judique station, there were multiple sets of tracks here even in the 1970's, although even then the buildings were already gone, but the is evidence of them, the water trough under the platform still exists, although I will need to wait for summer to add a waypoint for it.  I remember playing around the rail cars that were dropped and picked up here.  At one time it would have been a busy station.  The little road you drove in on was once called Station Road, and near the top of the road you can find the Story Tellers Museum, also known locally as Jack's Store.  It is a historical building, one of the Port Hood Coal mining company houses, bought and transferred here after the coal mines flooded.  It operated as a general store for many years, later as a restraunt, pool hall and a butcher shop.  In the summer you may be lucky enough to catch a Cheildh in the evening. The road into this cache may not always get plowed, the lot just north of this (a former gas station) normally does and allows random parking, if you do park there, its only a 330 meter walk to the cache.
