This is my first geocache. I wanted it to be easy to maintain and to be able to checked regularly with the children. The container is a magnetic spice can. The top comes off with a firm pull by placing your first two fingers throught the opening. Make sure to snap it back on completely. Depending on the time and day, you may be observed and/or encouraged from the picture window by one of the family members.
In May of 2011, the Cumberland River flooded causing incredible damage to downtown Nashville and the neighborhoods on the estuaries feeding into the river. Although I did not live in this house at the time of the flood the previous owner said the water rose to within 15 feet of the carport. Often times while grilling, I will look out across the backyard and imagine what this might have looked like: a wide expanse of muddy water, over a 100 yards wide, swallowing the shrubs and bushes along the creek as it rises to it's crest while the trunks of the sparse trees stand alone like some odd green lolipops sticking out of the frosting of a chocolate sheet cake.
