KASCHLIN
Markant liegt der langgezogene, stellenweise kahle Höhenrücken (1.432 m) in der Landschaft.
Der Zugang erfolgt im Westen (von Stilfs) über das sogenannte Wassertal und im Osten (von Prad über Gargitz) über den alten - 1825 aufgelassenen Fahrweg. Dieser verlief wahrscheinlich schon als Kaschlin eine blühende Siedlung beherbergte. Heute endet diese Urweg unvermutet an den Abbruchrändern im Süden.
Die eigentliche Siedlungsfläche zog sich von der Kuppe gegen Süden. Abstufungen zeugen heute noch davon.
Da archäologische Grabungen noch ausstehen, kann aufgrund der Funde nur ausgesagt werden, dass hier mindestens seit der älteren Bronzezeit (ca. 2.000) v. Chr.) eine mehr oder weniger dichte Besiedlung vermutlich bis zur Römerzeit (15 v. Chr.) vorlag

La dorsale lunga, in parte brulla (1.432 m) risalta in modo notevole.
Si accede ad ovest (da Stelvio) attraverso la cosi della valle dell`acqua (Wassertal), ad est (Prato via Gargitz)
lungo una vecchia strada carrozzabile - chiusa nel 1825.
La strada passava sotto la collina che ospitava presumibilmente il fiorente insediamento di Kaschlin.
Oggi, questa via molto antica termina inaspettatamente a sud.
La superficie originale d`insediamento si estendeva dalla cima verso sud.
Dei terrazzamenti lo testimoniano tuttora. Poiché gli scavi archeologici non sono stati ancora fatti,
solo in base ai ritrovamenti sopra citati si puó presupporre che almeno dalla più antica età
del bronzo (2300 a. C.) ci sia stato uno stanziamento, più o meno intenso, durato fino al tempo dei Romani (15 a. C.)

You can see the long barren hill of Kaschlin (1432 m) striking in the countryside.
The hill can be reached from West (from Stilfs) across the so called "Wassertal" and from the East (from Prad / Gargitz) on the old path. This path was situated under the hill, may be just when Kaschlin was a prospered settlement.
Now this road ends in the south of the hill, where stones, earth and roofes drops off.
The settlement terrain was terraced. Arceologic enquiries were not made, but the found ware documents that from the older Bronze Age (2300 BC) until the roman Age (15 BC) there was a little settlement.
