Geocache Description:

Loro Ciuffenna is situated on the slopes of Pratomagno at 328 meters above sea level. The village center has medieval and more ancient origins. In the area were found Etruscan and Roman artifacts and during the early Roman period the territory was crossed by the "Via Cassia", an ancient road running from Rome to Lucca.
Loro Ciuffenna retains the oldest still working watermill in Tuscany built around the year 1000 near to a gorge on Ciuffenna’s creek. In the past, the banks of the Ciuffenna housed six watermill that were abandoned after the war with the depopulation of the countryside.

From main square down to “Via del Mulino” reach the entrance where you can found the actual owner Mr. Giuseppe.
Take a visit of this amazing building which includes three millstones actuated by a central shaft coupled with a water wheel wich provide the rotational movement. Come here in the evening and you will see the light reflection accompanied by the flowing water in a magical atmosphere!

Here you will find the cache.
