Although the Promontory of Piombino occupies a limited area, it enshrines a surprising environmental variety awaiting you to be discovered.
LA VARIETA' AMBIENTALE DEL PROMONTORIO
Il promontorio di Piombino presenta un'interessante varietà di ambienti, ciascuno con le proprie specificità geologiche, faunistiche e botaniche. Nell'insieme si possono distunguere i seguenti ambienti :
la fascia costiera
la steppa e la garriga
la macchia bassa
la macchia alta
la macchia-foresta a leccio
il bosco misto e caducifoglio
le radure e le fasce ecotonali
le pinete
le dune
Fatta eccezione per l'ambiente dunale, il percorso del PowerTrail attraversa in maniera piu' o meno importante tutti gli altri ambienti.
Munitevi di un paio di guanti per una ricerca più sicura del cache !
Evitate di attirare l'attenzione di eventuali babbani durante la vostra azione di ricerca del cache onde evitare fastidiose manomissioni.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL DIVERSITY OF THE PROMONTORY
The Promontory of Piombino shows an interesting diversity of environments, each one with its own geological, botanic and fauna specificities.
In a so limited surface, one can easily discover the followings environments :
the coastal area
steppe vegetation and garrigue
low Mediterranean scrub
high Mediterranean scrub
scrub-holm oak woodland
mixed and deciduous woodland
clearings and transitional areas
pine woods
the dunes
Excepted the dunes, the track of the PowerTrail crosses, although in different proportions, all the other environments.
Wear your gloves while looking for the cache !
Please make sure nobody is seeing you while looking for the cache in order to prevent muggles from sabotaging it !
