Leap Days are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the Sun. It takes the Earth approximately 365.242199 days (a tropical year) to circle once around the Sun. If we didn't add a day on February 29 nearly every 4 years, we would lose almost six hours every year. After only 100 years, our calendar would be off by approximately 24 days in relation to the seasons.
We will meet up at the Bourbon Street Bar & Grille at 346 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Ave. from 5PM to 730PM. Our event will be upstairs in the patio section. The restaurant is conveniently located to numerous subway lines, including the 1, A, C, E, N, Q and R lines.
In addition, there will be a limited number of trackable geocoins available for purchase at this event. These coins are trackable at www.geocaching.com and were minted specifically for the New York City event!
