Cacher's Last Stand Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

KWrightVA: This unusual cache was made possible by the wacky "handiwork" of some unknown railroad spike wielding lumber bearer. One of the spikes, which is in a key position for accessing the bottom portion of the stand, has become pushed too far into the tree to be usable. As this was not intended to be a "T5-equipment required" cache, I going to go ahead and archive this to preserve the D/T rating for those who had the fun time signing the log ... as well as to make way for a coming attraction. ;)

Geocache Description:

How to attack this one? Many say there's more than one way to skin a cache. However, this hide doesn't offer many options.

To begin, the familiar (but never overstated) adage is at play here: "Everyone does not need to go after every cache." This one's for those who posses similar characteristics of being fueled by strong coffee, adrenaline, and a heavy dose of stupidity. Note that pursuit of a specific geocache is done so at your own risk. While that should be common knowledge, it is being restated here for the benefit of all parties.

Now that the legal team has been appeased, this cache presents an exciting challenge. Will you take a stand? Your trip should consist of 10 segments:

  • Arrive at cache location.
  • Survey the scene.
  • Man (or woman) up.
  • Retrieve.
  • Return to terra firma.
  • Joyfully sign log.
  • Head back towards the heavens.
  • Carefully replace cache as found.
  • Get grounded.
  • Strut away from cache location to perform additional acts of foolishness elsewhere.

As one final disclaimer, you DO NOT need to get on top of the apparatus. It's age, origin, and condition are unknown.

Please access this cache via the trailhead listed in the additional waypoints. This geocache is located in beautiful Waller Mill Park. Parking/entrance fee is $2.00. Additional park information is available in the "Related Web Page" link. A big thank you to the City of Williamsburg for allowing us to geocache in this wonderful location!

Congratulations to CrimpinPucks on the FTF!
