A small cache to get you out of the house on January 1st, 2017 - or any other day you feel like you need a quick find.
It has been our habit, for several years now, to place a cache for a New Year's Day search.
Why, you might ask - well several reasons come to mind.
First - maybe you have decided to start finding at least one cache a day for a year - maybe this could be your starting cache, or a fill in cache as needed.
Second - because some folks need the encouragement to get outside for some fresh air on this special first day of the year depending on how they spent the night before.
Third - because this is a location where not a lot of walking is required so less pounding for your head - if you were out welcoming in the New Year until very early in the morning.
Fourth - because we appreciate all the hides placed for all of us to find so we thought it only appropriate to start the new year once again by giving back to others who have placed this past year.
Bonus thought - this is the first time we have hidden a cache while it was snowing --- too much fun, too Canadian.
And, if things go right - this will be published on the first day of Canada's year long celebration of 150 years!!!
Happy Birthday, Canada!!!!
All things considered, what you really want to know - this is a smaller cache placed near the road for what we hope is a rather quick find.
