Geocache Description:

This large park area is a Neighbourhood Safer Place-Place of Last Resort. These areas are here if all your plans fail and you can’t get out in a bushfire situation. Remember to enact your bushfire survival plan early if you have one and if you don’t, start making one. Stealth is needed for this micro cache (has a pencil and log).

The area along the foreshore has been designated as this place of last resort. This place shouldn’t be put into your first few bushfire survival plans. It should be your last option, as the name states. Take a read of the sign and understand what may happen if you find yourself here (let’s hope you don’t!!). Know the Fire Danger rating for each day, know your area and know your exits. To know what the day is expected to be you can download the Fire Ready App to your phone, check the CFA website and even listen to your local radio station (ABC, 774, etc). Enjoy the park area; it’s a beautiful spot to be on a nice day. Just not when there is a bushfire!!  Let’s hope that will never happen! Enjoy the coast. Stay alert, stay safe Geocachers!
