As part of my pilot training, I have become quite familiar with this area and have been amazed at the amount of communication that goes on between the pilot and the control tower.
So the cache title is a snippet of what is said to the control tower on approach. The meaning for the cache title is a little cryptic, but here's what it means:
- Nelson tower - Nelson airport has a control tower with normally two people on per shift
- NAD is at... - NAD is a Cessna 172 which is a four seater plane and is owned by the Nelson Aero College (picture included), which is a plane I have been learning to fly in! Also on my birthday flight Ii have flown in this plane and had radio troubles.
- left base for - Left Base is when you are coming over from Rabbit Island and heading towards to the west to approach the runway from the MDF plant end
- grass 02 - grass02 means the grass runway and the number is for which way you are coming in
