Geocache Description:

Depending on your approch, this could be classed as a 4/4

This cache was originally placed back around the first of April. After 10kms of driving on snowmobile pack snow in four wheel drive, praying we wouldn’t get stuck and three kms of hiking, sometimes up to our knees in mud & ice, we stashed the cache in the wrong spot! Or at least not where I had intended to place it. So, it sat there not logged for anyone to find… until now. Last Friday, I returned to the spot where we saw the old gray Moose and we had hid the cache two and a half months earlier, hence the nickname for this cache.

The cache is hidden along the Fundy trail system and could take several days of hiking to reach or less with a little map reading. There are 80 metre cliffs along the way to the cache with overhanging sod. Be careful when looking over.
This area was quite populated at one time with lots of history to be discovered. The remains of old wharves, and a large saw dust pile can be seen in the inlet. Along the hillsides are hidden foundations of old dwellings and near the cache site is the foundation of an old lighthouse and keeper’s building.

The cache is hidden on the ground in a blue Rubbermaid container. (see photo)

Original contents were:
A foam pad for sitting on while at the cache,2 photo magnets,1 dozen doggie treats, 2 fire starters made with walnut wood shavings, 2 dinner candles, 2 bottles hand cream, matches, Red Tassel hockey puck (still in case), July to July 2002-2003 pocket calendar, and a Ski Wentworth “Traveling Hat” with travel Bug attached.
