Geocache Description:

To find this cache you will have to explore one of the town's newer neighborhoods; Palo Blanco.

Palo Blanco (Lysiloma candidum): The neighborhood is called this way because of the abundance of Palo Blanco trees around. Palo Blanco means White Stick in Spanish due to the very light grey exterior bark of the tree. Under the white surface is a deeper layer full of tannins, which protect the tree from insects and pathogens, and can be used to tan leathers, make ink and treat exterior wounds and skin problems. It has also been used traditionally in Mexico to treat rattlesnake bites and scorpion stings (Watch out for those!).
